Mahamrityunjaya JapaHealing

The great healing mantra of Lord Shiva, recited in your name — for recovery and peace of mind.

By arrangement The contribution depends on the scale of the ritual, and is agreed with you before anything is scheduled.
  • Sankalp taken in your name, approved by you first
  • Date set by muhurat, confirmed before scheduling
  • Photographs and video shared afterwards
  • Contribution agreed openly, in advance

What it is

The Mahamrityunjaya mantra — Om Tryambakam Yajamahe… — is one of the most revered verses of the Vedic tradition, addressed to Lord Shiva as the great healer and protector. A japa is its disciplined repetition: the mantra recited to a fixed count, with your name and intention held in the sankalp.

Families traditionally turn to this japa during illness and recovery, before or after surgery, in times of fear or anxiety, or for an elder passing through a fragile phase. Please hold it for what it is: a prayer, offered with discipline and love — a support alongside proper medical care, never a substitute for it.

Who it suits

  • A family with someone unwell, before or after a hospital admission.
  • Anyone carrying fear for another person and wanting something to do with it.
  • Households in which an elder is passing through a fragile stretch.
  • People who would like a japa done properly to a count, rather than an unspecified 'prayer'.

How it is arranged

What is included: a sankalp taken in your name — and your gotra, if you know it — naming the person the japa is offered for; a fixed count of recitations agreed with you clearly beforehand; the japa performed in one or several sittings depending on that count; photographs and video from the sittings; and a short note on continuing the mantra yourself, if you wish.

Dates: the japa begins on a day and in a window chosen by muhurat — often a Monday or a tithi suited to Shiva worship, matched to the urgency of the situation. In genuinely urgent circumstances we begin as early as the muhurat allows.

How to arrange: send us your name, the name of the person the japa is for, and a line about the situation. We confirm the sankalp, the count and the contribution openly before anything is scheduled. The contribution depends on the count and the number of sittings, which is why this page says by arrangement.

What it does not do

  • It is a prayer, not a transaction. No ritual can be sold as a guaranteed outcome, and we will never describe one that way.
  • It does not treat, cure or prevent illness. It sits alongside proper medical care and never in place of it.
  • It does not remove the need for effort, honesty or good decisions in the matter you are bringing.
  • It is not an emergency service. The date is set by muhurat, so there is always a short wait.
  • It is emphatically not a medical treatment. Please do not delay, reduce or stop any care your doctor has advised because a japa is being performed.

How we keep it honest

The count is agreed with you in advance and kept to. Photographs and video from the sittings are shared with you afterwards. Nothing begins until you have confirmed the sankalp, the count and the contribution.

If you would rather recite it yourself, we will happily give you the mantra, the pronunciation and a realistic daily count instead — at no charge.

Questions we are actually asked

Yes, as early as a suitable muhurat allows — often within a day or two. Tell us plainly that it is urgent when you write and we will treat it that way.
That is the usual case. The sankalp names the person the japa is offered for, whether that is a parent, a child or a friend, and they do not need to be present or even aware of it.
No. Absolutely not, and we would decline the arrangement if that were the intention. The japa is a prayer offered alongside proper medical care — please continue every treatment your doctor has advised.

Ask before you buy — it costs nothing

Tell Dr. Nidhi what you are hoping a piece will help with. If something in the Atelier suits you, she will say which and why. If a reading, a mantra or simply nothing at all would serve you better, she will say that instead.
