A horoscope is a simple reading of what the planets — the grahas — are doing, and what that may mean for you. For thousands of years, families across India have looked to the sky for guidance before a wedding, a new job, a house move or a long journey. A horoscope by rashi is the easiest way to feel that guidance in daily life: a gentle nudge about where to put your energy, what to be careful of, and where good fortune may be waiting.
Below you will find free daily, weekly, monthly and yearly horoscopes for all twelve signs. Read yours as a warm, general guide — and remember, a general horoscope speaks to everyone born under a sign, while your own kundli speaks only to you.
Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly horoscopes — what is the difference?
Daily horoscope
Your daily horoscope is the day's weather report for your rashi — a quick sense of the mood, the opportunities and the small cautions for the next 24 hours. It is best for everyday decisions: when to push, when to wait, and what to keep an eye on. Because the Moon changes rashi every couple of days, daily guidance shifts quickly.
Weekly horoscope
A weekly horoscope zooms out a little, showing the theme of the week ahead — where to focus your effort, which days may test you, and how work, money and relationships are likely to flow. It is ideal for planning your week and pacing yourself.
Monthly horoscope
A monthly horoscope follows the slower movement of planets like the Sun, Mercury and Venus through the signs — the gochar, or transit. It points to the bigger themes of the month, such as career pushes, money matters, family and health, so you can prepare rather than react.
Yearly horoscope
A yearly horoscope takes the long view, shaped by the slow-moving grahas Jupiter and Saturn and the year's major transits. It sets out the broad chapters of the year — the seasons for growth, for patience, for relationships and for care. For the deepest yearly guidance, though, your running dasha matters as much as the transits, and that needs your own chart.
Sun-sign vs Vedic Moon-sign (rashi) horoscopes
You may have noticed that your Vedic sign is sometimes different from the star sign in a newspaper. Here is why. Most popular horoscopes use your Sun sign — the sign the Sun was in on your birthday. Vedic astrology (Jyotish) works differently: it reads mainly from your Moon sign, called your rashi — the sign the Moon occupied at the exact moment you were born.
Because the Moon moves quickly, your Vedic Moon sign is often one or even two signs away from your Western Sun sign. Many astrologers consider a Moon-sign (rashi) horoscope more accurate for day-to-day life, because the Moon governs the mind, emotions and daily experience. If you know your rashi, read that; if you are not sure, a quick birth-chart check will tell you — and it is well worth knowing.
Not sure of your rashi? It depends on your exact birth time and place, which a Sun sign cannot capture. A short reading with Dr. Nidhi finds your true Moon sign (rashi), your nakshatra and your running dasha — the foundation of any accurate horoscope.
