Puja and Homa as Remedy

The ceremonial remedies — where intention is given voice, fire and witness.

What is this remedy?

Puja is structured worship — offerings, mantra and intention (sankalpa) made in your name; homa adds the sacred fire. Graha shanti pujas address specific planets; larger ceremonies like the Mahamrityunjaya japa are undertaken for protection and health seasons.

Why it is traditionally used

Some seasons are too heavy for a daily practice alone — tradition then prescribes ceremony: concentrated, performed with skill, witnessed. The sankalpa spoken with your name and gotra is the heart of it; the ritual gives that intention form, voice and fire.

When it is used

Classically at dasha changes of demanding planets, before marriages and major beginnings, during illness seasons in a family, after bereavements, and when a reading finds a specific affliction that ceremony traditionally addresses.

How it is practised

Arranged rather than improvised: the correct puja is identified from the chart, a muhurat set, the sankalpa taken in your name (attendance in person is ideal but not required — arranged pujas share photographs and the sequence), and the follow-through practice, if any, explained.

Who should consult before doing it

Always, for remedy-grade ceremony — the diagnosis decides the puja. Be wary of fear-priced ceremonies sold on urgency; a genuine prescription explains its reasoning and never threatens.

Common mistakes

  • Buying ceremonies out of fear rather than diagnosis
  • Grand pujas as substitutes for the small daily practice
  • No sankalpa in your name — the personal intention is the point
  • Skipping the simple follow-through the ceremony asks of you

A gentle note: remedies are shared here for education, in the spirit of tradition. They support reflection and steadiness; they are not a guarantee of outcomes and never a substitute for medical, legal, psychological or financial advice. Whether a particular remedy suits you is read from your full birth chart — please consult first.

Frequently asked questions

Presence is ideal; arrangement in absence is traditional and valid — the sankalpa carries your name and gotra, and we share photographs and timing of the ceremony.
From the chart: the planet, the affliction and the season point to the specific shanti. That is why ceremony here follows a consultation rather than a catalogue.
No. Correctness, sincerity and skill matter; scale is a choice. Distrust anyone pricing ceremonies by your fear.
