What a Vedic astrology consultation costs in India

Fees in this field range from free to several lakh rupees, with very little explanation attached. Here is what actually drives the difference, and what you should expect for your money.

Why the range is so wide

Astrology in India has no standard pricing, and the spread is genuinely enormous — from free app readings to consultations costing lakhs. Three things account for most of it.

Preparation time. A chart studied properly for hours before a sitting costs more than an answer generated on demand. This is the difference you are mostly paying for.

Demand and reputation. A practitioner with a long waiting list charges more for the same hour. That reflects scarcity, not necessarily accuracy.

What is bundled. Some fees include follow-up questions, a written summary, or family charts. Others are the conversation and nothing else. Comparing headline numbers without checking this is comparing nothing.

What should be included

Before paying, establish: the length of the sitting; whether you get anything in writing afterwards; whether follow-up questions are included and for how long; whether remedies are part of the fee or sold separately; and whether the price stated is the total.

That last one carries the most weight. The most common problem in this trade is not a high fee — it is a low fee attached to an expensive remedy revealed later.

Pricing patterns worth avoiding

The consultation is cheap, the remedy is not. A ₹500 reading that concludes with a ₹50,000 puja was never a ₹500 reading.

Per-question pricing. This creates a direct incentive to leave you with more questions than you arrived with.

Urgency pricing. A window that closes tonight, at a premium. Genuine muhurat is calculated from the Panchang and your chart, and it does not coincide with a payment deadline.

Subscriptions you cannot leave. Ongoing guidance is legitimate — but it should be something you choose because it helped, not something you are locked into.

What this practice charges, and why

Stated plainly, because the point of this page would collapse otherwise. Focused readings — tarot, face and palmistry, signature, logo — begin at ₹3,100. A full kundli reading begins at ₹5,100. A complete personal consultation, which combines the kundli reading with two further readings of your choice in one unhurried sitting, is ₹11,000.

For families moving through a season where much is changing at once, ongoing guidance runs at ₹75,000 for six months or ₹1,11,000 for the year, including sittings, a WhatsApp line and charts for family members. A few consultations — business, family, annual and muhurat work — depend enough on scope that the fee is quoted on request rather than guessed at here.

Every figure is on the pricing page, and every consultation includes the written summary and remedies. Nothing is sold during a sitting.

Free is a legitimate starting point

If you are unsure whether astrology is worth paying for, start where it costs nothing. Discover Yourself gives you your Moon sign, birth star and current dasha from your birth details. There is a crystal finder, a tarot reading, a numerology calculator and 70-odd guides, none of which ask for payment.

Use them first. A paid reading should be something you choose after you have seen what the method actually produces — not before.

Frequently asked questions

It varies enormously — from free app readings to several lakh rupees. Most careful independent practitioners charge somewhere in the low thousands for a prepared personal reading. At this practice a full kundli reading begins at ₹5,100.
Usually demand and reputation rather than method. A long waiting list raises the price of the same hour. It does not follow that the reading is more accurate.
Either is normal, but the full amount should be known before you begin. The pattern to be cautious about is a fee that only appears after a reading has alarmed you.
The calculations are usually fine — casting a chart is mathematics. What free tools cannot do is interpret the interaction between placements, timing and your actual situation. Use them to see your chart, not to decide with it.
At this practice, yes — remedies are part of the reading, not a separate purchase. Elsewhere this varies, so it is worth asking directly before booking.
